Our Musical Christmas Tree!

We’ve received some lovely ornaments as gifts this year, and some of them are music-themed, which prompted me to take inventory of our musical decorations.

First up, we have Kitty-Angel. She’s near the top of the tree, right under the Eiffel Tower. Being an angel, she is of course playing the harp!

My glowstick from the Barry Manilow concert (read about it here!) has a little hook on the end, and I finally figured out why:

One of the recent arrivals, from Aunt S. — 8th-notes! With jingle bells inside the noteheads, OF COURSE!

This little bell has a real clapper in it, but I think only dogs can hear it ring…

Treble Clef with jingle bell, also from Aunt S.

I don’t know exactly which lute-like instrument this is… it has more strings than most lutes, but it’s not the right body shape to be a sitar. The closest thing I can find is an archlute. Oh well, I don’t know what it is, but I like it.

Finally, here’s something McDoc won off of eBay for me: Hello Kitty’s Holiday Band! (Note the little color-coordinated Santa hats and everything!)

We didn’t get it in time to use it on the Hello Kitty Menorah… next year… ๐Ÿ˜‰

My conclusions? We’re off to a good start, but…

  • We need even MORE musical ornaments!
  • We’ll need a bigger tree next year! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks for reading!

Our Musical Christmas Tree! — 2 Comments

    1. Oh, I love the musical notes! One of my favorite ornaments is a french horn. It always gets placed in a prominent spot on the tree. I think I need to find some musical notes like those to go with it ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. Very nice. My wife is a piano teacher and makes handmade music-themed ornaments for each of her students every year. We also take a trip to Manistee to “The Hitching Post” Christmas store every November around Thanksgiving to see and purchase the latest music ornaments. After several years of this, our trees are full of music ornaments. My favorite on our big tree also is the big French horn.
