It seems to me that professional musicians don’t have much time for hobbies, as all of their creative energy goes toward music itself.

Lately, though, I’ve decided to experiment with being creatively well-rounded. I wondered if pursuing other forms of creativity would benefit my musical pursuits, or simply suck time away from them.

So far, the answer is “yes.” 😛

At any rate, I thought I’d share some of the results. These are lean economic times, as everyone knows, and I decided that if McDoc and I were going to do any gift-giving this holiday season, the gifts would have to be homemade in order to fit in the budget. And I thought it might be fun to try making holiday ornaments.

In addition to the Obama ornaments referenced above (which you can order by clicking here 😉 ), I’ve been making découpaged ornaments using pictures from magazines. Some of them are rather good, if I do say so myself. A couple examples:

And you can view the rest here.

As you can see, most of them have a musical component. I have to remain true to the vision of MMN Inc., after all.

I intend to give these as gifts to family and friends, but hey, I have no shame — if anyone would like to purchase one or more of them, contact me and I’ll be happy to make a deal with you!

Also: a note to family and friends who are reading this — if you see something you like, lemme know, and I’ll pass your preferences along to Santa! 😀
