Musical Fabric — with Hello Kitty! I don’t know what more I could ask for! π
This quilt arrived in the mail today, a late birthday gift from my sister-in-law, who is a talented quilter, as you can see. The musical part is hard to see in the wide shot, so here’s a closeup:
I love it — Kitty on guitar, and her little mouse friend on maracas! (You can’t see the second maraca — they do come in pairs, you know — but I’m sure it’s there… it must be hidden behind the mouse’s sombrero! π )
Piccolo likes it too, and didn’t waste any time before anointing it with cat hair:
Oh yeah — did I mention that I’m a Hello Kitty fanatic? People who meet me in person are often surprised to learn this, because I project such a cool, quiet, reserved, no-nonsense demeanor. It’s all an act! Still waters run deep, baby! Or in this case, they run pink! π
I wonder what we might find in the way of Hello Kitty musical instruments, hmm? I’m glad I asked! I used to have a miniature piano — it didn’t really play, it was just for show — but I think it got lost in the maelstrom of our cross-country move.
Not to worry! There’s a miniature grand piano that actually plays!
What about a full-size piano? You bet! There are a couple of models to choose from: pink and pinker! (BTW, I love the HK firewalk in the photo at the top of that second blog!)
I was sad to see that the Hello Kitty Piano CD Alarm Clock with AM/FM Radio is currently unavailable. Maybe it’ll be back in time for the holidays!
That reminds me — place your orders now for one of my custom-made Hello Kitty Menorahs! (Some assembly required! π )
Want a guitar instead of a piano? Fender can hook you right up.
Actually, there is, seemingly, no end to the Hello Kitty-ized products you can find. Which is okay by me. And contrary to what some Kitty naysayers might assert, most of the HK items I have are quite useful — I don’t go in for the dust-collectors. I have things like coffee mugs, bowls, a hairbrush, a stapler, notebooks, pens… Like me, Kitty is a practical gal.
There’s even a roll-up piano for when you need to take it on the road! π

Thanks — you make the world a better place! π
I found a singing Hello Kitty Robot to go along with your Hello Kitty orchestra.
That’s a gorgeous quilt!! I am always fascinated by quilts… the details vs. the overall impression, and all the fine work, precision, and care that goes into them. π
And just tonight I was wondering how those roll-up pianos worked… but then I noticed the one I was looking at was on sale, so I thought, maybe not so well… π
